That's a pretty amazing story of the King James Bible. I still have an old Norweigen Bible my ex-husband's grandfather had in his storage shed. I asked for it and he said ok. It is so old it has wooden covers, with leather. It also was in a fire. In the back of this Bible also is a family's genology. I haven't tried to locate any family members as the man in the news article did, maybe I will. I did however go through each page (had to pull them gently apart) hoping I might find Civil War Bonds or whatever and make it rich. All I found though were some four-leaf clover and an ad for Uncle ..... Cure All Syrup. I put those articles in an old frame. I'll post pic if I can find it.

Thanks @sherm1082! So I've been in my house since August of 2013. It's a new house which the builder sodded with Tif419. I've been following the bermuda bible for the past 2 years. I have a TruCut Reel mower that I cut the grass at about 1" religiously every 2-3 days (3 days max). So this year I decided to sand my lawn to remove a lot of dips and valleys in the lawn (which as we all know are exacerbated when your grass is only 1" tall). I used SuperSod's leveling mix which is 30% compost, 70% sand. Its really great stuff. I put this down last weekend (Memorial Day weekend). Anyways, now my bermuda seems to be sending up seed heads. They are tiny and white but really take away from the appearance of the lawn. I understand that means the grass is stressed in some way. I watered the leveling mix in and we've gotten some rain since then but I forget exactly how much. Any ideas? I'm thinking of getting a soil test as I have not done that yet on this lawn. Thanks for any help and guidance you can provide! Note: My last fertilization was early May with 34-0-0 slow release (1lb per/k).

In Wikipedia there is an article about the Douay Bible which says "Several American editions followed in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, prominently among them an edition published in 1899 by the John Murphy Company of Baltimore." James Gibbons Archbishop of Baltimore was created Cardinal in 1886, so since your edition specifically mentions him I would surmise it is the 1899 John Murphy Co version.
