What's The Gold Cream/Paint Used To Change Frame Color?
Comments (5)I'm so very glad that you brought this up. Someone here suggested that I lighten my frame (art over sofa). The only think I have found so far (& have not yet tried it) is 'Inka Gold'. Is it funny (ironic?) that everyone wanted to cover up their gold or brass with paint, and now we want to paint things gold? I have tons more questions on how to do mine, but won't highjack your post. If you do something, can you please post before & after pics, and tell us what you used? Comments (6)Keep the art in frames that complement it. It will still look fantastic not matching the household finishes. In fact, it may make your art stand out further (in a good way). I think there is nothing wrong with matching finishes, but there is also nothing wrong with not matching finishes....See MoreI Want Gold - She Wants Pink......
Comments (40)Well, someone bought that piece I linked above, but here is another pretty gold and pink fabric for pillows in the link, and others I just found, also. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dark-Gold-Flowers-Butterflies-on-Medium-Pink-Quilting-Fabric-by-Yard-1719-/390421738729?pt=US_Fabric&hash=item5ae6f2f4e9 trim - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pink-Gold-Sparkle-Braided-Fabric-Trim-1-4-wide-5YARDS-/310158740013?pt=Sewing_Trims&hash=item4836e6ca2d http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Cotton-Fabric-PINK-GLITZY-GOLD-MEDALLIONS-/200645410444?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0amp;hash=item2eb765fe8c http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOOAK-Fabric-AMY-BUTLER-Heart-Pink-BROWN-Damask-GOLD-Lotus-Temple-Garland-FLOWER-/230681021263?pt=US_Fabric&hash=item35b5a90b4f http://www.ebay.com/itm/PINK-GOLD-YELLOW-WOVEN-DAMASK-FLORAL-FABRIC-/190284383145?pt=US_Fabric&hash=item2c4dd543a9 Here is a link that might be useful: Duralee remnant...See MoreQuite A Difference In Picture Framing Shop Prices
Comments (3)Yes, Michaels is national, and IMO they're a big ripoff. They run "50% off framing" coupons so often that they jack up their regular prices in order to accomodate that reduction - with the coupon their prices are usually comparable to independent frame shops and their quality is often inferior. Good call to go somewhere else. For future reference... If you're up to reassembling a picture yourself (easy once you get the hang of how it goes together), you can take the frame to a glass shop and have a piece of glass cut to fit it. It is MUCH cheaper to buy glass this way than it is to get it at a frame shop where it is marked up, often by a great deal. I once took a picture (approximately 20x30) to a frame shop to purchase new glass after it got knocked off the wall, and the framer wanted $40 for the glass alone. I had already disassembled it to get the broken glass bits out of the edges of the frame so I was just lugging around the frame. On the way home I passed a glass shop and on impulse stopped in. They had the exact same glass in stock, cut a piece while I waited and charged me closer to $15. I frame in acrylic - aka plexiglass - nowadays for weight and safety, especially for large pieces....See Moreladynimue
