Hi Would think it could be done though the equipment for a hot tub would be useless for a water garden.lol Do you plan to keep it above ground,bury it . Winter protection?? How would it handle freezing?? Would think a far better fish pond than water garden due to the depth and materials but anything tha holds water is heading in the right direction lol gary

I second the pond forum, but while you're here, I do tub ponds the easy way. Cheap plastic tub or drainage free planter.... sometimes the tub can be spraypainted to get rid of any overly annoying bright color.... fill with water.... basically done. Feeder guppies from the pet store or feeder goldfish (the guppies are more "expendable") will keep the mosquitos controlled. A good garden center or sometimes Lowes will have some pond plants, depending on the size of the tub, you can go with all sorts of water plants up to and including water lilies and lotus. Last year I got a cheap solar powered fountain and put that in. I was extremely pleased with myself, but I'm not sure if it will last more than a year or two.

the problem is.. they are usually empty ... if you could actually find one full .. and test out the motors and what not ... then it might be worth it ... but i have to tell you.. moving one of these larger units is not easy nor fun ... and it would be a lot of backbreaking labor.. to find out it leaks.. or the circuitry is fried ... i didnt see where you are ... but running it.. in the great frozen north.. all winter long will be a hundred or two dollars per month ... and that is why i eventually got rid of mine ... i could not steep myself in there.. and relax ..... knowing it was costing me so much dough ... lol ... even in summer.. it wasnt cheap.. keeping it at temp ... as it takes hours for it to go up a degree or two ... so its not like you can knock the temp back.. like you might your furnace ... at night ... and think it will come back up to heat.. in an hour or two ... ken

Even were I closer, I'd be afraid to take it, for use in its original purpose ... ... it'd give the folks at KT an excuse to claim that I was "all wet". 'Twould be nice during a cold Ontario winter, though - unless it were outside. joyful guy
