Of course, I'd be honored. It really isnt all that much, I just loved the wood. I built it on a post and drove it in behind a potted bean plant for Mr. Bean to climb and cover. This plant is one of those beans in a can, daughter got it in her Christmas stocking. We planted it in a small pot in the window and it took off. It had reached the point where I feared I would wake up with bean stalk wrapped around my body! Anyway Mr. Bean is happily twining his way around my almost red birdhouse!
No, no, no, don't paint it red, it's pretty just as it is Sistersunnie. Is that moss growing on the roof of it? If so, how did you get it to grow there? I have a garden birdhouse on a spindle that'd love to have moss growing on.
I have read that you can grow moss on items by mixing a bit of moss with buttermilk or plain yogurt in a blender and apply to the item. It needs to be in a shady, damp area and protected from rain so the mixture doesn't wash away before the moss begins to grow. I intend to try this method on some hypertufa planters soon.
No the wood used to be red and weathered and theres a little red paint left on it. Thats what I really liked. That isnt moss, just another weathered effects. The lumber was outside exposed for years, think it was originally barn siding.
