Fabric Stores in High Point and Hickory???
Comments (5)The one I liked best is in Hickory and it was called Hollin Gate---HUGE selection, GREAT prices. If I recall correctly, it was closed on Monday so we actually missed it a few times. However, when we finally were there on a Monday, I was very pleased. I was looking for a cream upholstery fabric for an older couch (50 years, custom made) that I would not be able to replace for less than a LOT! I found a linen/cotten blend in the shade I wanted...It was $7/yd and had 24 yards on the roll. I only needed 18 yards, but they gave it to me for $6 if i bought the whole roll---I ended up with enough to do the sofa and an ottoman and still have a lot left over. The fabric was discontinued and it had retailed for around $50 a yard. I was very pleased---as was my daughter who was getting the couch!! There were a few other places in Hickory..some had fabrics up to $300/yd...we found that if we asked anyone from the area, they were quite helpful about pointing out places to go---this was based on a trip we took last spring. Good luck!...See MoreNo hardwood warranty from HOM Furniture store - midwest
Comments (17)I do not believe the length of the warranty has any correlation with the quality of the product, but having manufacture stated warranty and installation information is invaluable. As consumers and dealers we have to remember that hardwood flooring warranty is designed by manufactures to protect manufactures. They have strict procedures on how to best protect the flooring for optimal performance. By protecting themselves, the manufacture protects their dealer, the installer, and ultimately the homeowner by providing a product which will last. Even the best designed products can fail under the right conditions and the manufacture has very little control over the environment once it leaves their facilities. It is just as important for the dealer, the installer, and even homeowner to be informed on how to properly care for the flooring. Not having warranty information is a huge liability issue for a flooring brand because it means they are relying on industry standards, varying degrees of installer experience, and homeowners to take care of the floors to the best of their knowledge. For all the brands we carry if something goes wrong, we are the first contact for helping to process a warranty claim and from experience this is the information we have gathered. If you are interested in learning a bit more, this is one of our most recent blog posts regarding this very topic, purely informational: http://www.uniquewoodfloor.com/blog/the-truth-about-your-wood-flooring-warranty/...See MoreStoring porch furniture cushions
Comments (10)I have used contractor bags for storage of our cushions with no problem. One year I left a cheap throw pillow out all winter in our covered porch. Just forgot to put it away. The next spring I found a mouse/squirrel/chipmunk had chewed a hole in one corner. Never had a problem with anything I put in the bags in the attic. Maybe you could put a few glue traps near where you store them or scatter some mothballs nearby. Mice don’t care for the odor, so I’m told....See MoreLeads on furniture stores plus online for therapist office ?
Comments (4)I did a lot of research last night on various chains. West Elm is too expensive for her budget. The sofas there (that is the core piece we decided to get first, so we know what is left afterward) were all at least $1000, even on sale. Max of $ 750 on the sofa, hopefully less. Style: simple and modern. But not IKEA-esque. I liked the style there, but the prices won't work....See Moreflowergirl1211
