Newest Fairy Jars

Hi, I've been making some more fairy jars out of old jars and bottles. One is in a Starbucks frappucino bottle, and one is in a Tostitos dip jar.

They are breath taking ! Are they single decorations - or are they a part of a bigger display ? Whatever - I love it !

I think it would be a darling fairy house. I have several fairy houses that are not 'natural'. One is a "Squash house" and one is a "Pumpkin house" and some are china and some ceramic and some are wood and rock. I think fairies stay where it is comfortable. That one would fit just right in a fairy garden. Janie

Howdy and Welcome, Lorin, from another So.Ca. gal. : ) I'm glad you've found our floriferous and friendly forum inspiring. We're relandscaping our backyard, too, and remodeling. So if your muscles and joints ache, just know there is someone else not so far away who commiserates with you. I love your mini garden! Now you have inspired me because I have a birdbath turned planter that needs an overhaul. I usually plant annuals in it because the basin is so shallow. But now that I've seen your little charmer, I think it needs to be a mini garden, too. And I love anything mini so it should be lots of fun revamping it. Here's a pic of the planter from last year. It gets mostly shade with some morning and late day sun. Right now there are some pretty red geraniums struggling a bit in there. They need more space. I'm going to move them into another pot, asap! Yikes, I think I would suffer from craft supply withdrawal, if I had to go 60 miles to a Michaels! (Hands trembling a little... nervous twitches...) :-) Well, it doesn't look like you just used what you had on hand-- the wings and lid covers are color-coordinated, etc. And the sparkles on the wings are visible in the photos. Angela, I also like the sweet/hot thing, I often mix my Habanero Gold jelly with yogurt and maybe a bit of orange marmalade to dip wraps and things. Strawberry and mustard? Hmmmm. That might be pretty darned good on a ham sandwich, with a grind of fresh black pepper. Annie

Thanks so much ya'll, my newest craze! I'm glad I printed out several photos for making fairies later, that'll keep me busy when I start jones-in' for a craft fix! All I need to do is figure out how to use daughters computer...
They're single fairies, but they do look great all together. I'm making one in a birdcage right now, but got side-tracked.

They are the cutest things! I love the ones you did inside the kerosene lamps. Now I wish I would have hung onto the little kerosene lamp I put in the Junk Train.

I enjoyed reading and seeing the pictures of the black snake on your porch too. lol! Isn't it always the case that your batteries go at the most inopportune times? My mother always loved non-venomous snakes that ate mice. She would have welcomed him with open arms if that had been our porch.
