Planter I made from an old post I painted, used a metal grate as the base and added the plastic pot hangers. A easy and cheap (about $6.00) project to add some color to my patio.

Looks good, girl! How did you attach the post to the grate?

A couple long screws with large washer like rings - through the holes of the grate.

Where's Tim Allen to explain this stuff when I need him? *S*

That is SOOO cute! You have INSPIRED me! Ok, got it now about attaching the post to the grate, but where did you get the pot hangers?

The clay pot hangers were really easy to find a few years ago, but are a bit more scarce these days. I got mine off eBay, you may find them at a large nursery or garden store too. I've used wooden ones before, but these are plastic (and paintable) - they seem to work just as well. There are others on eBay (maybe cheaper) - I just used this one as an example because the photos were good.

Good luck!
