Hi Imjustsam, welcome to the forum. Two days of reading you say, I know that was fun. This is such a fantastic group of folks. You'll love it here. If you are going to use the wash tubs as planters, turn it over and punch holes in it with a hammer and a large size nail for drainage. Do you like to paint? You could paint them with a solid color first then do designs or something else you'd enjoy on them. If it's acrylic paint you're using, remember to use a sealer so the paint will hold up in the weather elements. Another idea is to use one for the bottom of "tipsey pots." You can find pics of those by doing a "search" on the front page of the forum when it first opens up. Sure hope you'll share pics with us when you've finished your project(s). Sal

lisatx04 We have several planters up on concrete blocks. 4 or so of them are the fiberglass type planters that are long ovals a little over 2 feet that we purchased at Wal Marts. I have 2 others that are black that are feeding troughs bought at Tractor Supply. They are a good 10-12 inches or so deep and one is square almost 3 feet long by 2 feet and another smaller that is an oval feeder that would fit inside the bigger one. As bought planters go a lot less expensive - great material and durability. Hope that helps.

Thanks all! I thought about making my own stepping stones to surround the base, but I still need to think on that one lol! Hobby Lobby sells stepping stone molds. I could use one of the molds, some quikrete, and even embellish them with stones, mosaics, and such. Then surround the base of the fountain with the stepping stones.
