Need Ideas for using key cards

My hubby travels alot and bring me home the key cards for the rooms. They are hard plastic similiar to credit cards and I have about 1000 of them. I would like to use them to make something but not sure exactly what.

Any ideas?

Got kids????.. If so... take the cards and stick white stickers on the front ( disk labels are about the right size)..then drill a hole in the top center. Then list a single chore on each card. Then hang them on the " to-do" hook.. when they do it they can move them to the "done" hook! I did this with a whole bunch of formica chip samples.. it worked great!

I seem to recall a commercial where Martha Stewart mosiaced a swimming pool with credit card pieces!

your brother had the same graduation date as my younger brother... you must still miss him... first ideas that came to my mind was also a birdhouse... mosaiced, with a few keys in places, with local little pebbles, from the river, moss from your backyard trees... little branches and any found things from your property.. if possible, his car license plate for the roof of the bird house.... second idea was to get several 6" tiles, from like Home Depot or Lowes...and make a frame around the door of one of doors at your house/cabin...in a Spanish idea they could be attached with some ready mixed grout/adhesive, with things attached to the tiles, in a mosaic idea but not necessarily grouted.. just bits and pieces, again, with the keys and found articles from the area, where you live.. tiles will be available in either white or an antiqued color..I've been painting the ones I have and firing them, so one day I can either do the door frame, like I mentioned or the back splash along the kitchen counter.. I love anything PNW, in art work...shells, rocks, glass, rust, ...I would do my entire house on the outside, if I had the stamina to do it...lol Becky....Olympia

I don't think what they use is rubber cement - at least not the kind we can buy. Try some glue dots - you can buy them in scrapbook stores. I am pretty sure they have "removable" ones. If not, the regular kind would be somewhat removable. Glue dots come on wax paper strips and they are the handiest little things for attaching stuff. I use them in scrapbooking and card making. Alrighty! *S* The card was made using a sheet from a wallpaper sample book (neat idea,huh?) and this is the front of it. This is the inside with the page from a Hymnal. In all honesty, I think I could have done better, but it DID give me some ideas!*S* Funny think is, I don't have a clue who the person is that sent it! lol She signed her name and initals under it! Took me a bit to figure THAT out..but it's the Church where Ronnie and I got married. Uh...I haven't attended that Church in over 40yrs!

Key Ring Loyalty Cards

I just signed up for yet another "loyalty" card, just because I happened to be near a grocery store that I don't normally go to, needed a couple things and just couldn't bear spending even a penny more for an item without the card. Which led me to spending time filling out the keypad-entry thingy for my name (which is long), address, etc., while the customer-service counter was dealing with 2 other customers at the same time. I know stores are battling for our dollars, but I agree with Donna. Just lure people in with lower prices and forget all those cards (which I keep on a keyring, mostly because I've always hated giving my phone number -- even tho I know that's probably the easiest piece of personal information anybody can find on the Web!). I know that stores use them to help track buying habits, loss leaders etc. But to tell the truth, I hate getting the e-mails from the stores of items in my buying profile that are on sale -- reminding me once again that I'm a repeat Ben & Jerry's customer!

i wonder if you could use that Krylon spray paint made for plastic furniture and paint them, (maybe all different colors?) and mosaic using that?

Kids like to use pretend credit/debit cards. Okay, so even donating to pre-schools, that still leaves you with, like, 975 cards...

Paint, if desired, then punch holes at uniform spots top, bottom and sides of the cards, then attach w/ metal rings, 5 or 10 or however many across and then 10 or so down--mod window hanging.

Adnama, I LOVE this idea! You could use the spray paint (meant for outdoor furniture) that I mentioned, and use these as an alternative for a screen on a porch, or covered deck... thats how I see them. to keep them from moving too much, you could fasten them at the bottom as well...

Gee... this could be done with other things as well... like maybe cds?

I've seen this done with old slides. They fastened them top and bottom and hung row upon row of them in a window as the treatment. It reminded me of the old bead curtains we had in our doors in the 70's......

hi.
i have been saving those cards we all get in the mail for a few yrs have acan full .
I want to use them for shingles for a birdhouse or like I told d.d a barbi house I have done basi mock up with tape holding them and it looks pretty cool witht he mixed color . about the time I thought of that they started switching to the kinda papery ones , darn. don,t have a use for it but the curtain thingy would be eay to make . Have the kids make flashcards using a Sharpee marker to learn their times tables. That's a gift for life!
