BUT....it's also a chair..... And while it might not have the salability as an antique one may wish....it's still a usable piece of furniture. You could sell that chair for just what you paid....but then you will have to go buy something to take it's place. Antiques that serve a purpose are different to me than those things you buy and stick in a cupboard in hopes that they will appreciate in value....or worse yet....collecters items. I have a round oak table....bought a long long time ago, before the golden oak boom....so I got a huge bargain. They the bottom dropped out of the golden oak market, and not many years later that table is now worth about 10 times what I paid. If I had invested the money I paid some 45 years ago....likely I would have had more than I could sell that table for....BUT....all these years I have had a table for eating, for homework for projects.......and it's still worth about 10 times what I paid. I have a rocking chair where the bottom of it broke the pegs out of the legs gave out and the bow snapped off one side of the chair. Can this be repaired? Without taking the entire bottom legs and bow off?

I can't really say how old it is...you actually need to look under and inside to get there from here but I will take a guess and say I think it's not terribly old. It appears to be an indonisian copy of an old chair when you take the simple carving and wood style into consideration. That being said, right or wrong, thirty bucks for a working chair you like is a great deal.

i just love painting rocks! been doing it for a couople of years now. if the rocks are muddy i wash them off, but when i get them from beside the lake, they are clean already. first i spray them with a flat black (walmart brand, $.98) and use chalk to make my sketches. then i use regular delta, or apple barrel or whatever brand acrylic paints. some need a few coats, others cover better. also smooth or porus rocks accept paint at different intensities too. (the smoother the easier, i find) the chalk lines easily erase with a bit of water on a rag, and then i spray seal it 2X with either a mat or glossy. i use the books by lin welford, painting flowers on rocks, painting animals on rocks etc. they are an excellent guide, i think. my favoties are the flowers, pansies, tulips, daffodil, and primrose, and animals, cats, racoons, turtles and bugs. oh , and pointsetta for christmas. i like to do huge ones that look like a potted plant. good luck, it is alot of fun. (and so cheap too, bottles, and jars and cans are fun too!) (oh, and driftwood santas)
