AnnKH, your deck looks great! I've noticed that the color of the teak sample looks so different depending on the time of day/lighting. Do you notice that?

We stored our vinyl pool liner under our bed and the last 4 nights have developed hives. Could this be the cause?

"There have been problems". I think that's true of any piping system. PEX has issues with chlorine (and sunlight). Copper has an issue with pinhole leaks. That said, the issues quoted in the linked article are the issues I see as well. It gets brittle over time - especially when exposed to chlorine. One bump to poorly supported pipe can crack 1/2" pipe. The issues in the article are anecdotal - and I wouldn't replumb my house based on that. But If I were replacing stuff anyway, I'd go with PEX- because copper is too expensive.
