So good to see your posts here, Pal! This is an interesting house, despite of the budget shortcuts. I like the modernist interior design and the hidden terrace. I'm a bit confused by the comments on the parquet floors. Apparently, this type of parquet would be considered a good quality in the US, while to my Russian standards it wouldn't. Perhaps because this pattern was used as a builder grade parquet in Soviet apartments (made from low grade wood scraps, not color matched). People moved in, tore it out and replaced with a "proper" parquet. The "proper" parquet would be of larger planks (not scrap), typically in a herringbone or chevron pattern and color matched (somewhat uniform wood tone throughout the entire room). I might be wrong, though.

They are known in the industry as an expensive joke of a service, relying on marketing rather than any actual value for money service. It is not a long lasting process and will begin to degrade almost immediately. You end up paying about as much as new cabinets from a budget line but without any of the opportunity to tweak your existing layout. If you start to add in roll out trays, cookie sheet dividers adn other organizational helpers, then you've already shot past the cost of new cabinets.

Hmm, Tiggsy -- looking at the last two doors from mrspete -- you could perhaps combine the best of both? You'd get your arch and your double door, and you could adapt that to the glass and framing used in the bottom photo, to good effect. (Now, to find... or have custom-made...) You could also have it frosted, just to discourage people peeping in.

So looked up some info on the real I.D.,, which I had forgotten about completely. It's available in Frankfort and they have limited walk ins. I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask if there are limits to walk ins. When I walked in here they asked me when my license expired and when I told them that's when they told me to call and make an appointment. They may have done it if it was way overdue?
