Wow! Lydia, your greenhouse is just amazing! All the plants are so HEALTHY looking! Are you near the El Paso area? It's supposed to be dry and a lot like my weather here in S. Calif. hi desert, only we get a little colder in winter. Down to 15-20F sometimes. I grew up an hour from here, where it never got below 40. Only a couple of frosts in twenty or so years. I assume your humidity is low too? Mine is sometimes in the single digits, yet it really IS possible to grow plants indoors here. At least, certain ones. I even grow a few orchids, and some with no pebble trays. My big croton doesn't have a pebble tray either, and none of mine go outside. Too dry--they'd get dessicated in one day, even if in the shade. That monkey tail is amazing, and I love variegated plants too. I was going to ask if anyone enjoyed spending time in their greenhouses, and I see that they do! I'd be out there a lot too if I had one.

Oops, I forgot I posted this. Been too busy to keep track of it. Thanks for the reminder lol I ought to try that with the onion root ends. I may try that today, though it's a bit cold out today. Ive had to bring my seedlings in at night, just because I don't have my heat source set up yet, but today when I took my seedlings out of the cover it was covered with a layer of ice. The ice is beautiful on the trees, but I'm thankful we didn't get anymore than we did!! Thursday the temperature got up to 49 F, and the greenhouse inside hit 100. I saved mostly everything, but I had to vent it very well. It seems to stay about 50-75 most days, depending on whether it's sunny or overcast. I find that it's hard to vent the other end of the greenhouse because of the aluminum foil I have for sun reflection. So I can only vent one side, which is 15 ft. Away from my seedlings. This isn't very efficient, so I made it to where I can just take my seedlings off, slide the boards all the way to the vented end, and then place the seedlings on the boards there. Works great. I wonder how the onions root ends would work in a container inside... I have some multisown spinach and peas for salads started under there in a 72 cell tray, and I had a tray of lettuce that I tried to start with paper towels, but I'm thinking I need to just resow the lettuce in the soil. The paper towel method was a bit iffy this time around. Transplanting was a pain, and I lost most of them to my greenhouse heating up too much. Maybe I'll attempt that today. I like your idea to make a slanted greenhouse similar to this. I had originally wanted to make mine slanted and constructed of a wooden frame, but wound up doing PVC pipe, because I had it and it needed used. If you make one, I'll be interested to see how it goes.

2 more 100 pound insulate tempered sheets of 3 foot wide sliding glass doors. carried up 15 steps from basement around a tight 180 degree turn and a very tight 90 degree turn. Ouch! My 92 year old wife said FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP CARRY THE LAST 6 PANNELS OF GLASS. Steve
