There were 2 neighborhoods in town having neighborhood garage sales. DH and I had a great time and made quite the haul.
The biggest hit was 4 copy paper sized boxes filled with wooden cigar boxes. I think 38 cigar boxes in all. All wood except 3. I think I'm going to stack some and make a lamp. I've given some to my kids and I'll find something to do with the others. Got all this for 25.00.
Any other ideas for uses for cigar Boxes??
Then at another sales I got a stand up gumball machine with a great iron base, and a table top gumball machine too. These will be lamps someday in my fun and games themed guest room. Also picked up several old books for 25c each. Dh got some LP's, I picked up some great trim for a dollar and a decorating book for a dollar. Some wood fencing for craft projects, some old binoculars in a leather case for my "traveler" themed guest room. I think there is more but I can't remember. It was a fun morning. I'll post pics later. |

| What a haul! I don't think they are quite the rage that they were there for awhile but have you seen the purses made out of them. |

| Another is to make a memory box, glue old broken jewelry all over. I've seen some really nice ones. Also decopauge is nice. |

| I forgot to mention that I'd check eBay to make sure none of your boxes are worth anything before you start drilling holes. :-) A few are worth quite a bit. |

| Thanks for the ideas, keep em coming. My kids each got some for their rooms. Dh got one for all that change he empties every night. I am using some in my craft room for, my jewelry making supplies. I still have a bunch out there, but they seem to be very useful and so decorative and pretty. |
