I think it's a "cordial set"...and looks to me like it's been sprayed silver....try a little nail polish remover and see if it removes the silver "paint"....and may be pewter....there are lots of sorts of pewter....some contain lots of lead, some none at all, some lots of tin, some antimony....so it could be something like that. It's...."interesting".... LOL!

I did a type of utility/broom cabinet where we lined the doors with magnetic markerboard. Once the size of the doors was determined, I ordered the board online from US Markerboard -- they cut it to size. The cabinet maker framed it out on the inside of the doors. I don't remember where I got the idea from, but my cabinet maker hadn't done anything like that before that either. Since then, though, he has used the idea a few times. We lined the back of the cabinet with pegboard so everything can be moved around if necessary. Love the magnetic markerboard. It puts the clutter out of sight.

Thanks Mom, Yeah, I kinda wish mine were narrower wood like yours. But, as it is, cabinet went back- put me in a foul mood! Kitchen place is now talking ending relationship with this carpenter and asking for their deposit back- great- where does that put me!?! But, I am concerned now that he (carpenter) may not be able to make matching doors- cabinet arrived doorless, so I couldn't tell. He has several more sets of doors/drawers to make for me... We have officially gone past the one year since ordered date...that was my deadline for this company to get everything finished- come and gone now- my Mom says DH should just make the rest and demand a big check- don't think that's gonna happen, but I am bummed. Guess kitchen's not getting worked on this weekend... we'll see what Monday brings! Love seeing everyone's pics...
