wow what totally awesome finds!!!! I can't believe people throw away the stuff they do. It just amazes me all the time. A lady I work with totally tore her whole front yard out. She is going to put in a sod lawn and thats it!!!!! She doesn't want anything else. No trees, no flowers, nothing!!!!! She had a pretty white picket fence and she had that taken out too. I would have loved to have that. But they just tore it to shreds. They had a guy come in with a back hoe and just rip everything out!!!!!I did tell her to try and save some of her daffodils if she could and she did get about 30 or more bulbs for me plus some tulips too. I just can't believe someone not wanting to keep the old stuff. I love old yards and old stuff. Thats where all the character comes from. But this lady is not into old junk like me. She has to have everything brand spankin' new. Oh well. She did have a brand new in the box white lattice arbor I bought from her because she isn't going to use it when her new yard is done either. I got it together over the weekend and I love it. Even though its not "old" and "junk" it still looks nice in my garden(-:

Last Sunday I went to my Mom's house for Easter brunch. Two of my great nephews were there. One of them, Chase, is not quite 2 1/2. The kids got little wheel barrows with gardening/sandbox toys and a few pieces of candy. Chase had not seen the Easter card from great gramma so I pulled it out and opened it. As I pulled out the card he said "my God, it's a valentine!" Later when the 23 month old nephew (Mason) was getting fussy and tired, Chase walked over to Mason's mother and said "you're his mother.......do something."

When I was little, I remember getting a big book of stories that I just loved. And I hated reading. What I loved about it was, it was a big book, probably 8" x 12" and an inch thick and filled with about 100 short stories. I didn't have to read it cover to cover. I could pick and choose which stories I wanted to read. I ended up reading the whole book many times. But to read a book with one story cover to cover took me until grade nine. "The Outsiders" by S. E. Hinton. I read it a dozen times over the years and watched the movie several times. It wasn't until I was in my 20's that I read another book and then became a bookworm with V. C. Andrews "Flowers In The Attic". Since the internet though, I've only read one book cover to cover. In TEN years! I'm working on book #2 right now. "The Iceman: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer" by Philip Carlo. It's a true story. Right now he's 26 and has killed about 65 people. Only 2 were for the mafia so far. The guy had some serious mental problems. But with a father like he had, it's no wonder. You have to read it. It's good. LOL I didn't watch the video posted. But I can well imagine what his reaction was. I was disappointed in my storybook too. But I did eventually read it all.
