A Question for kudzukween !!!

I think everyone at any forum you post at will agree - you are the craft queen !!! Our Guru ! LOL

My wondering mind has to ask - do you have a specific craft room or area that you perform your wonders in ? You do such a Wide variety of crafts . Do you only make one of something -- or do you do sales ? If I made such a variety of things as you .... my house would be bursting at the seams with craft supplies !!!! ( I have to collect a ton of supplies before I start on a craft *sigh* ) Do you think of ideas ahead of time -- or do you need inspiration from the things you already have ? I'm sorry if this has been asked before , I would just love to know how organized you can be and still whip out all your gorgeous stuff !

......... And how I can whittle away my clutter ! LOL

oh, wow, I'm so flattered :D thank you so much!

when my daughter got married and moved out, i had a room all devoted to many kinds of crafts. but now since she and my grandson have come back, I lost that room :D for a while i kept things under her bed, eventually they moved to 'the green room' or the living room and my bedroom. so i bought a nice solid wood double bookshelf at a yard sale for $25 and moved it into my room, and store boxes of craft supplies and finished crafts there and on top of it. i also have those clear drawer containers, and things are stacked in a bedroom corner. it isn't that much, it's just messy! in this room...it's too much! i use a large rotary mat and lay it on my bed while i create. it stores behind my dresser out of sight. i have a large sheet of crumpled up brown kraft paper i use for a background for taking pictures, plus a lace curtain, and a few other things.
i do sell my things.
but i look at what i have, and do a search on what others have made from it; or i look up a specific craft, and see if i already have what i need. i'll spend money on things i can use a lot, or have a lot in the package, or use for many different projects, but i'm not going to spend much. i wanna make it for cheap or free!
i spend a little time (lot of time) looking around the internet for ideas.

i like to pass along these ideas and how-to's when i can...for free! lol so i'm glad you read my posts:D

Well - you surprised me ! LOL I thought You'd have this giant "studio" ... with all your supplies at your fingertips . ( Don't we all wish ? ) I guess you're a "True Crafter" ... when you feel the need to make something - you do it no matter what ! LOL

I really enjoy your posts & thank you for sharing your ideas with us ( even the tutorials !) I'm really trying to simplify my crafting supplies... you're a great inspiration ! ( Ok- I'll quit embarrassing you - get back to work ! LOL )

Well....I finaly got my round garden all planted! It is sooooo neat! I ended up with nine 2ft paths coming into the center and a 3ft side walk all the way around the circle. Between the circle path and the garden fence is 2ft of garden, planted with tomatoes, cucumbers, corn and birdhouse gourds. I scooped all the topsoil out of the paths and put into the beds, then mulched all the hills and beds with grass cuttings. Planted red salvia along the main path to the picnic table in the middle and yellow marigolds all around the circle that the table sets in. Good thing I rasied the beds as we have got a ton of rain today and the paths are standing in water,would have washed all the seed down to the river. Just got it all planted yesterday evening, with DH's help. Oh, also have about 200 glass insulators, brown, clear, blue and green, and am in the process of putting homemade wire hangers on them and hanging them all around the top of the garden fence. They look really pretty in the sun. A homemade scarecrow and an old wheelbarrow filled with gourds stand in welcome at the left of the archway entrance. Thanks for all your input to the sunflower seed question. I went and purchased the Burpee Mammoth seeds:). We have a two story house Ms. Faith and my sewing room upstairs overlooks the garden so I can hang out the window and get a birdseye view to take a pic if I don't fall out on my head. I'm so tickled with my round garden that I can't hardly stand myself. Also can't hardly move today. Getting to old for this stuff:) Happy Gardening Ellen

Thanks Susie :D This cheers me up,too! Hey Kirk, that's what the tree looked like when I was growing up. We planted hundreds and hundreds with our mother it seemed like,even staying out in the woods til well past dark with all sorts of wild animals jumping around at us out there,(back then it was moonshiners you ran into on your property, now it's meth labs) and it was scary when you're only about 6 or 7 years old! I never inherited my mother's ability or want, to wander alone in the woods til wee hours of the morning. After I was married and lived here, we still cut down our own trees, until trespassers stole all of them(to sell, I guess)one year. Some grew back up from the trunks, but we didn't feel like fooling with them any more after that. The smell is great, there's no comparison to a live tree, but we broke down and got an ARTIFICIAL pre-lit one :D lol Too many allergies, they dried out quickly,too. Boy could I tell you some FUNNNNY stories us and the kids endured with live trees ( one year involving a crazy Himalayan cat we had :D ) I can't wait til next Christmas!oh and I see Carol's tree skirt! Wow, what great ideas! It's not even my question and I'm excited! Haha, I was already drooling, dreaming of all these vines on the gazebo and then kudzukween you come along with the twinkly white lights strung through the bedsprings. Oh, my that would be so beautiful, might just be too much to take on one of these hot southern nights. Hmm...where did I put those extra icicle lights.... Now that you mention it- I had forgotten, my son strung a couple strings of little white lights draped under the branches of a huge old live oak, in the back of the property he lived at once. What a magical place that was at night. One last thing-kudzukween your rusty bedsprings out in the woods reminded of the movie "The Wooley Boys" Ever see it? Remember when they went to find "Hidden Springs"? ymemory, how big is this gazebo? What shape is it? Did you get the pictures yet?

I used the kind in the pink can,so I don't know about the blue one, it looks like no catalyst comes with it,so maybe it isn't needed,and that would be better. But that's the brand I bought at Hobby Lobby, so maybe they carry both kinds. Call and ask them about it. You can print out a %40 off coupon for Hobby Lobby. If you don't have Hobby Lobby,try Michaels, but you can't print a coupon from them. It was $20 at Hobby Lobby, but 40% off that. I couldn't tell you if there's a price difference between the two products. If the blue one doesn't use a catalyst, buy it, and that's what I'll try myself next time,lol. And thanks ya'll for the nice comments:) on some things I glued to carboard,by the way,like words,or pictures I didn't want to become transparent. But some things,like the purple flowers., I left alone,and they looked like pressed flowers. Rhinestones do not work well in this, the heat does something to the back,and they will wind up looking round. I tried sealing with a clear spray sealer,and that didnt work. The rhinestones in the tiara pieces worked fine,though. Oh, and I did use photographs in one, and they worked fine. Let me see if I have a picture of it. I made one with my three grandchildren in it. You can see what happens to loose rhinestones! The silver hearts and stars are those little stickers you put on your fingernails, they worked well :) This is an old small sugar shell I used for this one.

"At your fingertips"... had to laugh! NO one I know is that organized! I have a beautiful birdbath totem I've done - thought it would be great to share with others because I used old lamp globes and milk glass - some things found everywhere. You know, parts we've saved we would all like to use up. Great to give others some fresh ideas. BUT, it also has some red plates in it & I had gotten a matching red cardinal for it... WHERE I put that bird... I can't find it!!! It musta flown away! lol

I must say tho, Kudzu, I love your ideas too! Everyone here gives such inspiration!

lol thanks........and i love all the things everyone makes on here, i'm always inspired to go make them myself! my "studio" is even worse now....i go from room to room looking for my stuff-that i KNOW i have-just to make something simple in about 30 minutes now takes a few days sometimes! it's like a three stooges movie :D
