The basket is actually darker than the candlesticks, but I think I had my flash on which is why it appears lighter. I KWYM about them looking as if they could get knocked over. I think that's why they're throwing me off. There's plenty of room on either side of the table and we have 2 toddlers here (2 & 4) while they and their parents are building next door. So far so good. lol. Tomorrow I'll switch places with the ones on the mantel, but I really like those & don't know where to put them if I took them off. Guess what I paid for the candlesticks? $7.00. Oh, I can't put them on the DR table because of the toddlers. They'd crash in a heartbeat!

They are all sooo pretty! I like your trivet-fridge magnet idea! I wear non-latex gloves when I grout...go through about 3 pair each time and still end up using my bare fingers for smoothing! I always rinse with vinegar after I'm all done and I end up smelling like a salad all day!

Thanks everyone! It's fun to get such a nice response as an op. I usually just add my 2 cents to other posters. I lit them last night along with a few candles in the fireplace and it was nice. My biggest challange is blending my love of repurposing with my mid century ranch set in the woods. The home says clean lines and the woods say "lady lodge" style:) mustangs, I do believe if you bought a new pair of lamps he probably wouldn't even notice unless you pointed it out. Nor would he notice "new" candle holders. Me too Amity! tuesday, I was eyeing the rest of my lamps in the house to see if I would rather see a flame than a bulb. franksmom, I do keep most parts. I have a fondness for finials. In my previous life I was an accessory buyer, and when merchandise arrived damaged, the vendor would give credit and have you dispose of the merchandise. I of course would keep the good stuff, shades, finials, harps etc. I could usually make use of something to fix something else for the store or give it to employees. But sometimes I would have tons of parts and no takers!! (I could only use so much in my own home) So what I am getting at is if you have a local furniture store, make friends with the buyer. He/she would probably appreciate you taking some of the stuff off their hands. Thanks again gw friends.
