The Lemon seedlings are doing wonderful! They're growing very fast. They did fine after I uncovered them. I think this was partially thanks to the fact that I mist all of my plants 4-5 times a day. I fear they'd burn without it, but they love the sun. About a week ago, I did have to give the wandering jew a haircut. You can't even tell now. I started another pot. I couldn't stand to throw away all of those stems. The bigger spider also has a few new shoots. All of the plants are sending off runners. Too many to deal with! Linda, along with the daily misting, I add a tiny bit of water to the soil. Although it's quick draining soil, I never let it dry. With the heat in the 100's, I have to water every day, so I don't know what it's like in your zone. Thanks for all of the kind words!

Nice looking plant. I agree they are very addicting. You could try switching your fertilizer to a bloom booster (higher middle number in the N-P-K) ratio. Just use a tablespoon to a gal of water. Make sure your plant is watered good with reg water first. Then apply. Do not cut it back any on the growth tips because thats where its gonna Y and make flowers. Hopefully you will get blooms this year. ~SJN

Your plan is remarkably similar to ours on the first floor and I really like the way our house "flows". The one point I would be in agreement with the others on is that I think, if possible, you would really be happy if you added a coat closet, some cubbies and cabinetry in the laundry area. It doesn't have to be huge. Ours is rather small, but I don't know where all this stuff would land without it. Here are the cubbies in our laundry room with the coat closet to the left. I'm not exactly sure how you would do it, other than possibly pushing the garage forward a bit to gain a few feet or stealing some space from the master closet. The other thing that we did was put a pass thru (just a small framed opening) between our master closet and laundry room. I LOVE it. The laundry drops into a cabinet in the laundry room and so it isn't cluttering up our closet or the laundry room. I would also agree with mojua about the natural light. In our house, we don't have the wall between the kitchen and great room. Instead, we have a large island separating the area. You may really like the divided area, but this may also be something to consider. Here is our floorplan. Although it is rotated from your floorplan, the great room is in the same place, on the other side of the island (or wall) in your plan. And here is a picture from the great room looking into the kitchen/nook area. How big is your family? This may affect your house "needs" somewhat. Good luck with your project! Hey Pluckymama, Did you ever get any pictures of the WZ? I would love to see it. Still deciding between that and the sonoma. Dh thought the sample of the WZ was so shiny, but he is leaving the decision up to me. I'm not doing the mosaic and was wondering if I should even do something behind the range. It's only a 30 inch and the range isn't even centered in the kitchen. It's not a huge space and I'm wondering if I should just keep it simple with the subways in a running bond pattern. I use so many accessories, colors and flowers thru the seasons. It's nice to have a neutral backdrop for that. The sonoma tile does come in 1" by 2" herringbone sheets, so I could do that behind the range. Thoughts? One salesperson thought I wouldn't really have enoough space with a 30 inch range to do mamadadapaige's herringbone with the 2x6. Here is the picture of the 1x2 sonoma, although it's not in the right color.
