This is the set that needs to be recoveredlooked like when it was new. Any suggestions on what kind of foam/padding or fabric to use?

There are fabrics that are mold/mildew resistant and water reistance that you can buy. Online, look for "indoor-outdoor fabric." Joann's has some Christopher Lowell and Waverly (I think) I/O fabrics in stock. I bought some for about $8 yd at a local decorator fabric store. A big name in this type of fabric is "Sunbrella." I found from my reading that you should use bonded batting around the cushions before covering. Other kinds of batting shift and bunch up. I was going to get my batting at a local decorator fabric shop, but found it was cheaper if I bought it from an upholsterer. I hope this helps.

Whatever fabric you decide to go with, scotchguard it before you start using the cushions. They will repel any moisture and will help reduce fading also. I think Joann Fabrics has a fairly good selection of upholstery fabrics.
I say go with whatever you love. Are you doing it yourself ?

We recently bought steel patio furniture brand new. I know the downside is it will rust vs aluminum. I didn't know that after 1 month and some rain there is rust spots all over our cement patio. Can anyone recommend what we can do to avoid this? Should I buy deck tiles, patio tiles, etc...? I would have the same issue though wouldn't I? For example when I move a chair after rain the water slowly pours out on the cement patio and leaves a rust spot that is very hard to clean.

Need help in assembling outdoor patio furniture that just arrived with

Check online for the brand and model. Usually, there is a link to specifications or directions for assembly. Worst case, call cutomer service and if they don't help, return the furniture. Sorry this happened. I find most directions these days are very poor depending on country that manufactured the stuff.
