I am going to try and post a pic, first time doing that.What do you think of my first totems??

I just came over to check this side out. It's a little late but you should post your totems over on the Garden Junk forum that's where most are posted & you would get a lot of response!! Very different & love the variety of shapes you used. Jan

Lucky you to find a red vase! They aren't so easy to come by. I like the idea that your totem can be used as a garden decoration or a serving piece too. It would look great on a 4th of July buffet. Ditto for the clever candle holders too! Keep the totems coming!

Love your totems and I like the grouping. I have 2 finished and am waiting to gather enough glass for 1 more because I think they look best in 3's. Gotta wait till I find more glass pieces at the right price..........as this is supposed to be fun not a crunch on the budget!!! My faves are the cut glass ones with a little color throwed in. That's true. About a year and a half ago I bought some from Walmart that was outdated. I didn't know it until I got it home. I took it back and noticed that all the tubes were outdated. I've purchased it there numerous times since then with no problem, but I always check the date before I bring it home. It's really hard to see. It's indented in small numbers on the bottom end of the tube.

Glass totems, what silicon to use?

I've made over 50 of the totems and bird biths and I've only had one come apart because I didn't use enough silicone. I've had 2 out for more than a year and they are still intact. I've found not matter how much silicone you use it will go where it wants. Unless it is really thick around the outside I just leave it. Gives it more strength. I've never had a customer complain about it showing. If you don't like it you can use a razor blade and cut off the access. I always use clear too. mrsdutchy your totem is very pretty.

Very nice, emilyann. I especially like the one with the square glass on the bottom. Very elegant. I love the way all the pieces go together. I bet it will really be pretty in your garden. Crystal really shines in the sun.
