you can make any moulding into picture frame moulding if you have a router or have use of one, by routing a groove along the ouside edge for the mirror to fit into. otherwise find the biggest frames you can and cut the mirror to fit them OR you could mount the mirror onto the wall with mirror clips and then just use mouldings around it to frame it in..if they don't fit tight to the wall use some 1/4 " or so material under it to shim it out from the wall

Good morning, everyone! allison, The 1/2 bath might be considered a 'folly' down there! I do have a small area around it somewhat finished, but the rest of it will always be a spot to work on my many hobbies, like furniture refinishing, messy crafty stuff, you-name-it. I also have a doggie door in the opposite 'working' side of the cellar, that goes to a former garage under my office, which I made that into a wood working 'shop' years ago. Another doggie door in the shop takes them out to their fenced in area of the yard. The cellar and the shop are valuable real estate to me, just as they are. I do have 3 windows and a door with glass in that 'living' part of the cellar, as well as a wood stove, and an armoire with a TV it in. It's cozy in the winter with the stove, and cool in the summer and the couch down there is great for naps! These pics are of my former LR sofa down there and a 'reading' nook with big chair. Not much decorating has taken place yet! The door you see on the right in this pic is to the 1/2 bath. This is the reading nook which faces the wood stove. Being a dog lover, I got this original oil painting of a Springer from eBay for $21.49! His eyes are a perfect match to the Behr 'Cork' paint color. And this is Ikat fabric called Casbah, that I got at 1/2 price at Ballard Designs. I might make sill length panels for the 1/2 bath for fall and winter from it. The way it goes with that paisley wallpaper is the stuff that (my) dreams are made of. I'm happy to see so many paisley lovers here, as I have always been one, and I LOVE to mix patterns in a room, even a small one like this. I'm glad that others are inspired by my 're-cycled' bathroom! I'd never have done it if there hadn't been a rough one down there to start; but I just replaced that with one that even I'll use. No more storing tires and hoses in this one.

I think the reason you pics look different IRL is your camera angle is looking down on the table. Try squatting down and taking it from that perspective. Also, try with/without the flash. It took me awhile to get my indoor shots to look more true to life. I use a setting on my carmera "no flash in now light" and I feel that gives me a more true to life look. I like the pic vertical. If you decide to keep the plant, center it on the base and arrange it so the spill is onto the table base, not the floor. Another option which I actually prefer is to put a wicker basket below or to the side and use it more practically to collect small items that need to taken upstairs. Just me, but I don't care for the artificial flower arrangement. I much prefer dried ones if you cannot use real plants. I think you can get away with just two items on top and one below. Try the frame to the left and little candle next to it. Then a nice, oval mirror above. I would not trust command hooks for a mirror. I'd get the OOK ones ane make sure you have a good wire at the back of the mirror. There have been a few threads about stair remodeling with fabulous results, depending on the look you want, if you ever want to get them updated. There is a wealth of information here.

The new mirror is nice, but I agree it needs to come down a few inches. Wonder if you would consider changing out that lamp with the one on the metal table in the other room? This one just feels off to me in here, and I think it would be more appreciated in the other space, and the simplicity of the white shaded lamp would be better here. The candlesticks your dad made are amazing! But I think they will be lost in there. Please consider putting them in a grouping on the mantel, with soft green candles in them. Silver candlesticks are nice there, but maybe deep red candles? I like the colorful bowl, but I would rather see a large platter (oval or rectangular, perhaps) on a stand. It would help bridge the gap between the cabinet and the mirror. Maybe something like this? carynthum platter Finally, I keep forgetting to mention how much I like your DR chandelier!
