I remember a bath with those swag lights that had both of them swagged to one side, one higher than the other. Any chance that would work for you? You could then have them on the outside of the space further to the left a bit and it would give you more room. I think it would work with a larger square mirror, if that appeals to you. If the light on the left stayed close to where it is, but was up higher and the other light was hanging outside it, just a bit lower, maybe as low as they are now? And with not quite so much slack in the chain. Not one directly above the other, but one over more to the left a bit.

you can make any moulding into picture frame moulding if you have a router or have use of one, by routing a groove along the ouside edge for the mirror to fit into. otherwise find the biggest frames you can and cut the mirror to fit them OR you could mount the mirror onto the wall with mirror clips and then just use mouldings around it to frame it in..if they don't fit tight to the wall use some 1/4 " or so material under it to shim it out from the wall

I think the reason you pics look different IRL is your camera angle is looking down on the table. Try squatting down and taking it from that perspective. Also, try with/without the flash. It took me awhile to get my indoor shots to look more true to life. I use a setting on my carmera "no flash in now light" and I feel that gives me a more true to life look. I like the pic vertical. If you decide to keep the plant, center it on the base and arrange it so the spill is onto the table base, not the floor. Another option which I actually prefer is to put a wicker basket below or to the side and use it more practically to collect small items that need to taken upstairs. Just me, but I don't care for the artificial flower arrangement. I much prefer dried ones if you cannot use real plants. I think you can get away with just two items on top and one below. Try the frame to the left and little candle next to it. Then a nice, oval mirror above. I would not trust command hooks for a mirror. I'd get the OOK ones ane make sure you have a good wire at the back of the mirror. There have been a few threads about stair remodeling with fabulous results, depending on the look you want, if you ever want to get them updated. There is a wealth of information here.

Well, to me, the "busyness" of the inspiration photo is the distinctive pattern on the floor, plus the large number of drawers, all with multiple frame trim and large pulls. There is no plain plane of wood at all; it looks very busy to me, even though I love it. I personally would never use that floor (which looks so contemporary to me) in the large herringbone with that more traditional style vanity, which has an overall checkerboard pattern (not sure what to call it - lines of squares and rectangles). Then the marble shower tiles and the mosaic patterned shower floor add more elements. The colors do not seem to work together on my monitor, which increases the dissonance to my eye. Gold tones in the wood, pink tones in the floor and grey tones in the shower - but monitors are quirky and it may look different on yours.
