Very nice, mine is from CF and it still is growing as a branch. Maybe someday it will take off but for now it is still very floppy. It may be a while as it looks.

The August picture did me in...now THAT is what it's all about, isn't it? This particular stage of this hosta is exactly what gets my excitement meter shooting up into the clouds...the colour, the shape of the leaves, the crisp and beautiful shape of the plant....aaaahhhhhhh, that's H o s t a! Reminds me of puppies and kittens....can't some of them just "stay like that"? Beautiful.

The style headache can wait for after the floorplan get's nailed down :) I've reconfigured it 3 ways. The bold lines show what you already have, the lighter lines are adds. I personally don't like to move things I don't HAVE to (like the pantry or the doors/windows/sink) b/c I'd rather spend my money elsewhere or keep it if I can. That said, you can assume all of those things are exactly as they are in your kitchen today (I didn't feel like drawing them all in, but you can assume they're in exactly the same place you have them now). I haven't constricted the eating area. You'll note that I have extended the countertop all the way to the double doors of the sun room. I will say, you need to dream bigger. Stop restricting your kitchen to these walls b/c you're limiting yourself alot (which is probably what makes your want list so small). There are so many things you can do!! It's an exciting space. I was even thinking that it would be fun to get the kitchen table in the middle of the kitchen and then have a breakfast bar or a ton of storage along the 138.5 inch wall.......maybe even find an awesome buffet on craigslist and save yourself the cabinet cost. You and your husband did a great job. The kitchen is gorgeous. I hope you are able to retire soon to enjoy it. I have seen esmeralda costa but not the rosa. very pretty. You took on a big job and you did bathrooms too. Hope you share photos of those. We are in the midst of a DIY kitchen redo. My husband just took up the same green floor (original to our 1968 house) a week or so ago under several layers of flooring. Husband had to buy a new super duper crowbar as the green floor was firmly attached to the underlayment plywood with hundreds of nails. I admire your hands on involvement as I am more of the helper who cleans up.
