Hi OA ... I can't even remember how long I've had this 'old door' cabinet or it could be called a hutch .... over 10 yrs ... It is not a 'corner cabinet,' per say, but I wanted it made to use in a corner but not "built in"...so hubby used some old barnwood boards for the sides (11" ones ...I just went out & measured) ... we used a sheet of 'beadboard' thick paneling for the back. The door still has it's hinges & doorknow on & is attached to the 3-sided box piece. My regret now is that we did not 'hinge the door to open...but at the time, I didn't want that big old heavy door to open (so the bottom half is actually wasted space. I could use that for storage! LOL! We added another board for the top & added some more trim... I painted it a color called 'Navajo white' & it's been that way ever since...never re-painted. Most of the time I have my collection of Heisey 'Lariat' glassware here ... but I've been changing it out the last couple yrs for Fall & Christmas. ;-) Hope this helps. Jeanne S. Sooo cute! I love it all, and especially that candle arrangement! I'm also PM, yes, I understand your putt reference, LOL I'm adding my T & P's to the rest. We have a 6 yr. old DGD and my heart just breaks for all those families. I can't imagine trying to cope with such a tragedy! I'm wishing them the strength and courage to begin the healing process. Sorry, I am posting on an older forum, but for some reason, I cannot get the site to let me start a new message. So I am hoping I can get some opinions from everyone. I am refacing our cabinets and getting new doors. I thought it might look nice to get stained glass inserts for 2 of the doors. I've seen them done on both sides of the stove, and/or the sink. I don't want to overdo it, so I only wanted 2 doors in the glass. SInce the doors on either side of my stove are different sizes (one is very much narrower than the other) I decided against that. I thought I'd like to put them on either side of the sink, which is in front of a window. The only thing is, there is one cabinet to the right of the sink/window, and 2 cabinets to the left. Would it look odd to have the 2 doors on either side of the sink/window done in stained glass, but the 3rd door in wood? The doors I have selected are a raised panel light maple. All the cabinets, lower and upper are the same style. I am just concerned that the 3rd cabinet, with a wood door, might not look right next to the 2 stained glass doors. But I don't want to "overkill" the glass either. My kitchen is not that big, I just wanted 2 stained glass doors as a focal point, I think it would really dress the kitchen up. Thoughts?
