Painting a dragon on a black vase

Posted by Char_Michigan5 (My Page) on

I want to put this dragon

on a black hard plastic vase so it looks like this

So far I've tried to free hand with a tooth pick and then with a brush, but I keep having to wipe it off because the lines become too thick. Please any suggestions or ideas on a way to transfer it. Thanks Char

Hi Grama,
It does seem a little quiet but this is the holiday week, I'm sure everybody is busy with getting life together for Thanksgiving. Thank you so much for your reply and a Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Char, if it was me, I would hang a light in it and tape the design to the inside so that it would show on the outside, then I'd trace the pattern with a china marker. If the design didn't show up like it should then you could rub chalk over the back of the dragon and tape it to the outside, then trace around it with a ball point pen. Hope that helps.

By the way I really like it, it's going to be beautiful when you're finished with it.

What if you print it off of your computer and cut it out like a stencil with an exacto knife? Just thinkin' out loud.

Charlene, I know this post is old, old, old, and you have probably already done your vase. I had a suggestion for you. I'd love to see a picture of it.
