Pearl Ex Pigment Powder question

Posted by dreamgoddess (My Page) on

Has anyone ever used any of this before? It's made by a company called Jacquard. I'm just wondering how easy it is to use. I've been looking for some opalescent or pearl paint to use on plastic beaded garland and found this on google.

If anyone has used it before, what did you mix it with?

Hi Dreamgoddess, Gosh, I've never heard of that pigment powder at all. Maybe someone else has and can help with your question.

I do know you can buy lots of colors of paints, there are pearl, metalic, glitter, etc. You can find lots to choose from at Michael's.

Hope you will come back and share before and after pics of your project with us.

Luvs, can you recommend a pearl paint that I could order online? I really wanted something that would have sort of an opalescent look to it, but haven't been able to find anything like this. So, I started looking at the pearl finishes. It'll be at least a couple of week before I can get back to a Michael's, so I was hoping to find something online.

You can try Plaid or Delta. I'll link the Plaid site for you. Just download their paint catalog and look at the metalics and the gems. There's a pearl paint in both of those categories that might work for you.

Here is a link that might be useful: Plaid paints

RE: Pearl Ex Pigment Powder question

I have and use the Pearl-Ex Pigment powders and they are very easy to use. You just mix them with your paint or medium. But I also own a lot of Pearl paint colors which are just as easy if not easier to use because you don't have to mix anything. In the Pearl paints I use the FolkArt, Ceramcoat, and DecoArt brands.
