Priming skates before painting?

| I have a pair of ice skates that I want to paint, but need to know if there is any surface prep I need to do first.TIA |

| Well, I've never painted any skates before but I painted some boots. If it were me I would put some primer on it first and then a base coat. Are you going to do some decorative painting on them? The primer and base coat would give you a good base coat for whatever you do paint on them. Let us know how they turn out, okay? Barbara |

| Thanks Barbara, I did just as you said, have them done, and will post the picture as soon as I get them developed (don't have a digital camera yet, gotta get one). |

| Barbara, haven't got the digi yet, but almost have my reg. film roll used up, am getting the pics put on a disc, and if I can figure out how to post the picture, I'll put it up. |
