The painting is outstanding . It looks "real"

It looks great. I painted with Deanne Fortnam several years ago and I can say honestly it was not my best experience. While she is a wonderful painter, she made a lot of our members mad because she came across as though she didn't really want to be with us. Maybe because she was not feeling well, but she never got up from where she was sitting the whole time. I like a teacher who walks around and checks on her students. I never finished the pieces we painted but I thought you would like to see my blueberries. We also painted a white rose but it is on a tray and I would have to take a picture of it - haven't figured out the camera yet. Keep up the good work.

I got the pattern off the internet; a freebie. I must say that her instructions were horrible. I just did it my own way and I'm pleased with it.

I agree with you, her written instructions are not the best and considering that you did a fantastic job. She did a fairly good job of explaining what to do in the class or I would not have been able to paint the blueberries. However, it didn't stick because I could not duplicate those berries again. I love taking classes but hate when I haven't really learned anything when I leave.

I think when you are challenged to do something your way is always the best. Your apples are very realistic looking and the shine on your metal cup is great. I had a very hard time trying to put a shine on the berries and I still find her technique difficult. I am taking a class with Bobbie Campbell next week and I will come back and let you know how she does her shine - I have done it before and it is a great technique.
