Hey, Anj. Could you go over to the crafts forum and look at Jacquelyn's valentine dominos? Then come back here and explain to me how to do that?

I went to the graphic site she listed but didn't want to download any programs or anything until I have DH take a look at it.

All the things made with graphics sure look cute and easier than painting. I just don't quite understand the how to of it.

Thanks, Luvs

Sure, I'll head over there right now, but don't get your hopes up that I'll be able to explain it. ha Back in a bit. ~Anj

Both of those sites you have to pay for the graphics although I actually joined pccrafters and got some free. I think you get a week free to check it out.

It looks like she just found some graphics or clipart that would fit her dominoes and just did a decoupage with them, added a few sparkles and jewels. I imagine she hot glued a magnet on the back. I have a whole bunch of free graphics saved to a file in my computer. You could make a new file in MY DOCUMENTS or if you go into your picture file just right click and go to NEW and then FOLDER and name it whatever you want and save them there. A lot of times you can right click on a graphic and click on SAVE PICTURE AS and put it into your folder. You can open them up in whatever picture editor program you have to resize it to what you need.
I just did a google search and found a necklace made from dominos that did the same thing. Found clipart she liked, sized it to what she needed and put 5 layers of Modge Podge on it. Also found some that were painted or stamped.
Did that help at all??? ha If not ask and I'll try to find out.

If you go over to Primdoodles.com I'm sure you can find some free printables that would work.

Ahh! Mod Podge would make sense. Wonder if she put a design on both sides? Guess I could ask her that question, huh? I have saved free graphics--just not sure about that resizing part! LOL Good thing my DH is really into computers and can help me with that kind of stuff.

Hey, did your neighbors like the Jiffy Pops? Or did you run out of time? Guess what? I had put my three up in the cabinet and completely forgot about them! Opened the door to get some tape, and there they were! Wonder how long Jiffy Pop will last? LOL See what happens as you get older--senior moments! ;o)

I don't know, but if I was making them into magnets I wouldn't bother with the back.

I don't know what picture program you use or maybe I could help you figure out the resizing. It takes me a while to get the few things I've done to the right size. Don't really know what I'm doing either. ha Maybe if your DH can help you figure it out you can teach me. :)

I only got the one jiffy pop done. I had 2 left, but just ran out of time. I'll have to look and see if they have an expiration date on them. I could probably come up with a Valentine design to go on the other 2 and give them to my SIL's or the widow lady behind me. We try to check on her and give her things from our garden and other little things here and there. She'd probably enjoy that. ~A

The dominos are cute, but I was thinking about using the graphics on something larger--even just a chunk of wood or a heart shape--just to sit somewhere to look like I'm decorating for the holiday. Ha ha Kept thinking that just putting them on with glue and then a spray sealer wouldn't be the best way to go--so glad you mentioned Mod Podge. I have a couple containers of it that I've had for years. Wonder how long it stays useable? Hope I can even open the lid after all this time. LOL
