OT -- Prayers for all servicemen

With veterans day approaching, I'ld like to express my thanks for all veterans and prayers for all servicement. Tomorrow I will be working with a program to provide a holiday meal to vets.

Very timely KKNY.. Just back this afternoon from a funeral for a boy killed in Iraq... I am thinking and praying for his mom today and tonight, to get her thru this...

Thanks for the reminder, KK, & bless you for doing this service for our veterans.

Here in Texas we're still reeling from the attack at Ft Hood, so, if you can, please say a special little prayer for those service members & families.

Okey, I hope this is the last update! First---- once again, thanks for the prayers and support. The pin is in the finger. Took very little time- the shots to numb the hand were another matter- I would have willingly hit the nurse while she was injecting me but my husband had ahold of me. I did do lots of involuntary foot drumming! Ouch, hurt like nothing else so far!! But, it is done, and that is a blessing! Pin comes out in 6 weeks. Little or no tendon damage! Prayers being sent for Jaiden. I looked thru the blog and shed a few tears. Oh, so hopeful for a complete recovery! Was she struck by a snowblower? Do you mean the large truck that drives thru the streets, blowing the snow to the side of the road? Did she have broken bones as well as head injury? I haven't seen this story, so just curious, and concerned. Please let us know if you hear any updates on her recovery. WE will keep her in prayer!!

Thank you all for your Thoughts and prayers they have helped me today. Brian does not see the doctor till Wednesday noon he did pretty good today he managed the pain alright. He called this afternoon thinking he will not have enough pain meds till Wednesday, I told him get through tonight he could call doctor in the monring. I do not think the ER thought it would be 3 days to see doc. But I know Dr. is waiting to see what the swelling is doing and it will be over 72 hours when he goes. I think he is also starting to realize he is gonna go stir crazy while this heals and I warned him it might be longer than 6-8 weeks. He said he will need a hobby then and wanted to learn to sew. lol I will let ya know the update... Nanci

I lived in tornado alley in SC. Every time we heard there was weather coming out of Augusta, GA (44 miles from my house down I-20), we battened down. There was never "A nice, sunshine, lollipops and rainbows front is coming out of Augusta today." No, it was flood, tornadoes, torrential rain, ice storms, whatever bad weather you could get, it came from there. I went through a couple of nights hunkered down in the bathtub with my son with a mattress over us while tornadoes passed over our trailer and we listened to the tops of the pine trees in the timber tract two doors down snapping off. That is a scary sound, let me tell you. It sounds like machine guns being fired at a fast-moving freight train. It's not something you ever forget, and firecrackers still make my heart pound. So I'm sending out prayers and blessings for everyone affected by these horrible storms. Been there, done that. Hope I never have to go through it again.

My prayers go out to all of the families touch by war, and loss of a loved one, those who have family members still serving and those who have family members are are back and are still suffereing with war induced stress syndrome and problems.

Yesterday was a long day. Veterans of all ages, shapes and sizes. Its always a reminder to me of many things. One man said to me that he knew he had made some bad choices in his life, but was trying to make amends. I think that is something we all need to remember, that as long as someone is still alive, there is hope.
