Theory: 'Love is so quiet'

I read a piece about love and parenting a few years ago in a Gender Studies class.

It really hit home with me and it's something I try to put into action in my own life.

I don't recall all the details of the piece, but...

The mother was so angry with her kid, who was being a MONSTER, in the grocery store, yelled at her child and whisked them from the store in front of many onlookers. Later that day, she and the kid were in the backyard and saw something lovely (like a butterfly coming from a cocoon or something similar) and sat together on the grass, watching and whispering to one another, then had some hugs and I love yous.

The author went on to wonder why anger is so loud, and love is so quiet. She pondered that it really should be the other way, where people see our love, but our anger is dealt with privately and quietly.
