The forum doesn't love me anymore
Comments (5)Well, it's not completely fixed. I've been having that trouble for about a month or so having to log in multiple times before I can reply to a post. I just tried here, and it came up an error when I did a preview and then wouldn't let me do anything =:( This is my second try.......will it work? Maybe I have to stop talking for a while =:)...See MoreDoesn't anyone embroider by hand anymore?
Comments (16)I just surfed over from the Quilting forum, as I do a lot of embroidery, too.....currently like doing felted wool pennyrug type things with applied embroidery accents. I got a kick out of this posting subject, for I was wondering the same thing.....till I saw it everything seemed to be about machine embroidery, which to me, just isn't the same as hand work. I saw that someone asked what stumpwork is....NOT a new name, but a very old name for a very old artform. It could be called dementional raised work, and historically was done on small boxes, firescreens, frames, not clothes or anything that would require flat surfaces such as tablecoverings, etc. I remember seeing, in the V@A Museum in London, a wonderful box that was covered in a linen fabric and then had applied figures of people...these were stuffed so as to give roundness to the figures. The women had beautifully embroidered hair (done with real human hair) and beautiful clothing, as did the men...it was made in the reign of King Charles I (the one Cromwell had beheaded)...so, as I said, a very old form of embroidery....See MoreHe Says He Doesn't Love Me Anymore
Comments (1)Sounds familiar. :( Minus the other woman though. He says that it's him but it doesn't understand what's wrong....he's depressed. An early sign of a mid life crisis. Believe me my ex did basically the same thing and after a few months of being on his own he started realizing what he had and had given up. I didn't fight for him and I do regret that now because I did really love him. It's too late for us. I can't live my life wondering every day "is this the day that he tells me again that he doesn't love me anymore". If you love him then fight for him. Give him a book about mid life crisis, especially one that details the depression and "lost" feel. My ex husband actually called several times to tell me about how he took all my good qualities for granted....at the time those same qualities were what made me "boring". He probably will completely dismiss the idea of a mid life crisis but that is exactly what he's going thru. Good luck!...See MoreMy husband doesn't ask for much, but when he does...
Comments (29)What a difference between the quality of Schlage and Baldwin (had Schlage in previous house). Baldwin is solid and will last as long as the door. Have the same colour family as you pictured (an older bronze) and love it. Goes with everything. When we moved in there were Schlage locks on the exterior doors so we decided to upgrade the doors to the outside and garage and went with Baldwin. Because it was hardware to the outside we went with the "Estate" quality in the Baldwin line. But for interior doors, I would have chose the medium quality. Also, just a heads up....for doors that lock I would suggest avoiding the ones that lock automatically when the door is closed. Very easy to lock yourself out. Suggest using a key to lock the door when leaving. Ours was already an oval theme so we kept that and are fine with it, but I think the square will also look super!...See Morefinedreams
