| So today I was thinking about how it has been about 6 months since my skids have heard from bm. I was wondering how long before it is considered abandonment and a ground for terminating parental rights?? Not that we would do such a thing. I was just wondering.... I know that there is a lot more involved that that but I was just curious. |

| I have wondered the same thing, given the situation with my DD and her absent BD. I *think* (and correct me if I am wrong), the courts will NEVER terminate a parent's rights unless there is an adoptive parent. Like--the only way I could have BD's rights terminated would be if my DH was adopting DD at the same time. I know different states have different rules. |
