7 year old Ramona in trouble ~ help!
Comments (5)Hi again ~ I finally got Ramona cleaned out a bit (with much care) she is truly beautiful now that the dried sticks n' twines are out of the way & her blossoms do not get so contorted trying to flash open. However the yellowed few foliage are hanging on & not browing & some are mottled ~ is this a symptom of something remediable? My ? a bout dog peedles is because she is planted at the foot of *No Parking* post ~ people walking dogs made me wonder ~ I have a set of folding wire fencing around the base to discourage them....See MoreHelp, I'm desperate. Comments (4)If you're in doubt, tape an 'episode' and show it to your doctor. Sleep disturbances can be caused by a lot of things. Flipping around, like a fish when asleep doesn't sound 'normal' and it does sound like it might be worth mentioning to your pediatrician. Infantile spasms might cause that kind of thing. Characteristically, the baby would alternate between flexing and extending at the neck (so their head is kind of bobbing) or at the waist (so their whole body is kind of into it, back and forth just flexing and extending). That might look like 'flopping around like a fish' especially when the baby was tired, going into or coming out of sleep. This page has a good description. http://www.epinet.org.au/info/infantile.html if that's it, then be careful not to panic because of all the different causes some are very severe, and some a lot less so but the thing is to get medical treatment because seizure conditions need good management as soon as possible to avoid or minimize any significant developmental delay that could occur (if your baby had been normal until this symptom at 7 months, then odds are they don't have one of the more severe causes)...See MoreMy 2 year old wont stay in bed! help!
Comments (16)I have a 2 yr old daughter that has never slept through the night ever and bedtime is always an hour or 2 fight to get her to bed. My husband and I usually have to rock her to sleep then put her in bed but she is getting too big to be rocked like that anymore. I tried the weighted calming blankets but she kicked it right off. We have tried Vicky's approach but gave up after 2+ hours of walking her back to her bed and fighting with her to stay in bed. She hates being alone. She wakes up at least once every night around 1 am and comes into our room wanting to sleep with us or play. She is extremely high energy all the time and difficult to calm. I am so ready for Super Nanny to help! Any suggestions for the extremely strong willed/stubborn 2 yr old and exhausted parents! We also have a very very hard time getting her down for a nap. Some days she just doesn't take one at all! Help!...See MoreLosing sleep with my 15-year-old dog
Comments (14)Thanks for your posts, everyone. I didn't word mine very well, and have to explain that Angel was hit on the road 15 years ago. That's how Jill found her. I love that story. Jill was a teenager, and in her friend's father's car when she saw the puppy on the road. They stopped the car and she got out and picked the puppy up. No one had a cell phone (like I said, it was 15 years ago), so they stopped at a house and Jill asked if she could use the phone to ask her mother to come pick up the dog. The woman said, "You can use my phone, but your mother isn't going to want to drive over here to pick up a dog." Jill replied, "You don't know my mother." :-) I thought about having Angel sleep in my room. The reason I haven't done it is that it's relatively easy to clean up messes in the bare hallway, whereas my room has rugs. And rugs seem to trigger her urge to pee, or at least that's what I suspect. Maybe it feels more like the outdoors. No, Wolfy is the one on arthritis meds. Angel doesn't take anything, which I guess is pretty remarkable. No, waitÂshe actually takes a heart pill, but she's taken that every day of her life since puppyhood. She's done amazingly well. Linda, I like the suggestion about the ticking clock, but Angel wouldn't be able to hear it. I might try bringing her into my room at night after first covering the rug next to my bed with a plastic trash bag (cut open) and newspapers. It's worth a try....See Moremattie_gt
