Christmas Gift for My Daughter - Wrought Iron & Stained Glass

I bought this old wrought iron wine rack to surpise my daughter with as a Christmas present.

I started working on this in October and have wanted to share it with someone but couldn't for fear the my daughter would figure it out. I am SO glad it's finished and Christmas is over because I don't keep secrets very well...lol.

Good grief! ADDIE: This is one of the most beautiful restorations I've ever seen. You really did a fabulous job on the whole idea and execution of your inspiration. I wish you'd taken a picture of your daughter's face upon receipt of this wonderful gift. WHAT a gift this is, and WHAT an artist you are!!!

It is beautiful! Addie, would you believe it; I have that same wine rack! except that mine has little figures worked in the iron instead of grapes and leaves. The shape is identical. I've been wanting to do something with it and you have inspired me! Wow, what a great gift.

absolutly beautiful. It amazes me when you see things like this that museums are full of horrible art and an item like this will only be enjoyed by a few.
Recently was asked to paint a stained glass toilet seat for a friend as an Christmas present for his sis. He gave me a photo of her bathroom window to go by.

Slowmedown, Yes, I should have thought ahead and had a camera ready but I missed it. She let out a little tiny scream when she saw it but when my husband flipped off the over head lights and turned on the lighted box she started bouncing in place and saying, "OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH!". It was great!

Silvamae, One thing I found in searching for a used rack is most are very light weight but this one is weighted making it less top heavy. So, if you have one like mine you have an ideal rack for such a project! Don't forget our pictures please! :)

fbsketcher, I love the toilet seat! What a great idea. Your friend put a lot of thought in to his gift...how sweet! You did a wonderful job on the airbrushing also. Just beautiful!

Gorgeous! We have had some super tables on here lately and this steps it up yet another notch to be lit up!!! I think I'm gonna have to put one of these on My 2012 To Do List!!!
