Butterflies butterflies

This is what I've been up to. I am almost finished with the huge space mosaic but veered off to do these butterflies. I am starting back on the space project tomorrow; guess I just needed a break.

SILVA, these are very pretty. I've never made a mosaic using dishes before, but these are inspiring me to give it a try. I really love the designs. What will you put them on?

RE: Butterflies butterflies

Hi, Loribee, thanks. I don't know what I will end up doing with them! I made 7 mosaic butterflies on mesh for a public art project at the Calusa Nature Center in Fort Myers, Florida. They (along with many more) are installed directly to a concrete wall there. Then I made one and installed it on our wall. Then I kept making them, haha, it's turned into an obsession. One cool thing about mosaic on mesh is that it curves. So I may put them on a large container. I will have to think about this.
