Cheap way to bend Zinc came

| Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to bend zinc u came to do circular stained glass panels and sun-catchers. Not a big fan of circular panels, but, looking at doing several panels for a cabinet that has an arched top to the panel insert.
not keen on spending $100 on a bender for something I'm probably not going to use a lot.
Suggestions? |

I've done one circlular window. I didn't put zinc around it since I knew it was going into a frame. I would think you'd have to have some sort of jig to do it though.

| I've used lead came for round objects that needed the support. It is more flexible. I thought zinc was for straight pieces, but I'm no expert. |

| Love the desert scene bamasusanna. I thought about doing the panels without the zinc but since it's going to be in cabinet doors I really wanted something that could handle a little more abuse since there wouldn't be a back side to hold it in place (other than the clips). |

| david- i could be wrong on this but you would think if you can bend the zinc came, your local glass shop should be able to provide that service for you maybe for a small fee? I have only used the zinc like everyone else for straight pieces only. Good luck!!! |

| I use bendable zinc came which you can buy from your supplier, I use it all the time. If they don't sell it, I think the Stained Glass Workshop, Farmingdale, NY sells it online. Email them. I am fortunate to be able to purchase it from one of my suppliers where I live. I myself wouldn't use it for suncatchers though, it's not as flexible as lead. There is also bendable copper. |
