New Pumpkins finished this weekend

| Here are a couple of things I finished this weekend: a small halloween pumpkin with black grout - looks better in person that is 5 inches high and another that is about 5 x 8. Not happy with the grout in the bigger one, but I did a test panel with 6 colors (gold, orange, black, brown, red, tan) so I went with brown which dried too light.

| How neat are those?? Do you use a morton system for your cutting? I like how uniform your pieces are. |

| What's the substrate? Love the pumpkins. I did some out of styrofoam with my son. We made jackolatern faces on ours, but I like what you have done here better. I thought about using the resin and plastic ones in the craft stores but haven't done it yet! Holiday crafts are so much fun!! |

| Oh GOSH! The pumpkins are FABULOUS! Was the face already cut out? Are they resin? We need some DETAILS, PLS! |

Wow! Those are great!! I don't use my old pupkin anymore, it's scratched up and looks awful. What a great idea! Hopefully I didn't throw it out already. Beautiful job!! Hazie |

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Both pumpkins were ceramic - small one from thrift store for 75 cents was cut out as you see and the other was one I purchased from TJ Maxx. I don't use anything to cut the pieces, just cut a long strip, cut it into 1" pieces, then to 1/2" and then use the wheeled nippers to cut into 1/4". Takes awhile to cut all those out. After cutting probably 20,000 pieces, I just about have the uniform cut down. |

| Wow Sirius! I have been looking for some pumpkins to do for Halloween!! I wanted to do them jack-o-lantern on one side and then regular pumpkin on the other for Thanksgiving. I can't find any just right! I love yours! Great inspiration to keep looking!! Thank you. |

Sirius, These are gorgeous! I also love the 2nd one. For the green grout (I think it's green...), on the stems, did you use acrylic paint to color it or did you buy the green colored grout? I know I won't have time to get any pumpkins done for this fall but I sure hope I can find some to do for next year. I've got a perfect glass for some harvest pumpkins! |

| Sirius....these are the most beautiful pumpkins I've ever seen. You did an awesome job on them. I really admire your work - all of it. I drool every time I look through your album. |

| Awesome...these are great....both beautiful......love the colors. |

| This is another one I keep coming back to admire. LOVE the second one - color is great. You wouldn't want them to be the same color anyway, no?? The uniformity of your tesserae is just awesome. |

| I used green acrylic paint on the stem afterwards to change the grout color. I was going to paint the grout on the pumpkin a darker brown, but the color is starting to grow on me, so I'll probably leave it the way it is. |

| Sorry I missed this thread the other day. Your pumpkins are just stunning!! What a wonderful thing to be able to keep for holloween and not have melting away on your front porch after. Just beautiful. I would leave them out until Christmas. So pretty!!! Chris |
