| Hi,
I have been looking at this forum for a while now and have found the courage to attempt my first mosaic. I wanted to do a large outdoor panel for my garden but put it off. Glad I did because Hurricane Gustav came an would have destroyed it. So now that my patio is just about finished I decided to change where I wanted the mosaic and choose to do a 3' x 5' picture of a bird of paradise. I started a couple of days ago. I am working from a couple of pictures that I painted in watercolor. Please let me know what ya'll think of it and if you have any suggestions.
Thanks
Donna

| your paintings are absolutely beautiful. once you finish the bird of paradise you should jump right into that tiger, those eyes are amazing. |

| Thank you so much. I actually just finished the tiger. It was the first time I tried to do an animal. I usually do flowers. If you mess up it still looks like a flower but if you mess up with animals or people they tend to look weird. |

| Well, hi, cajunlady!
What beautiful work you do. Your bird of paradise has a great start. I like how you're mixing the colors within the colors. Obviously you're an artist! We'll all be happily following your progress. You seem to be doing just fine, but feel free to ask again as you go on if you think you need input. Again, welcome! |

| Help! I need suggestions. What do ya'll think it would be better to do? Structure the tiles like the purple in the pod or have the tiles random like in the green stem? http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/zz25/cajunlady68/RandomversusStruct

| Hopefully these pics will help. I have to stand on top of my desk to try to get all of the picture. I'm trying to decide if the structured purple tile look better or the random green. Please advise. http://s810.photobucket.com/albums/zz25/cajunlady68/ Donna |

| Welcome, CAJUN - Man alive, you're patient, and VERY talented. I so admire all you artists that can paint w/glass. I used to paint w/oils b/f mosaics ate up all my other hobbies. Your paintings are wonderful, and I'll be anxiously watching how you explore mosaics - great start already - looks like you have experience already. |
