After Pic
I posted a while back about the door glass I was given. I had planned on taking the whole thing apart and making 2 small windows using the bevels. It's hard to tell in the before pic, but about 6 pieces of the background glass are broken, and the long bevel on the right has a crack.
Well, I tried to melt the lead joints with my soldering iron, but it just didn't work.It was a door front afterall, and it has some THICK lead!! So I grabbed the dremel with a cut-off wheel.
I started on the oustide and worked in. When I got to the bevel cluster I thought "Hey this isn't too bad..only one small crack" So, figuring to save myself a lot of work, I just left it like that and attached a couple of hangers. I'll probably go back sometime in the future and take it all apart to continue with the original plan, but for now it's somethin' purdy to look at, and it's not cluttering up my work space!
