A few questions

Posted by crazymosaics (My Page) on

Hello,

1. Can I use any kind of grout when I grout my glass vase? I used broken pieces of stained glass and glued them to a glass vase (using Welbond). Do I need to use sanded or non-sanded grout? Do I need to add a latex additive?

2. Does anyone know where I can buy a tissue box the long way? For the life of me I can't remember where I bought this tissue box from.

3. Does anyone know how to get rid of the glare when you're taking a picture of glass? When I took pictures of my lighthouse and vase there was a glare and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.

Thanks,
C-

RE: A few questions

Most mosaicists use sanded grout. I HAVE used the unsanded, but it's awful - like using honey. If you check tutorials on several "how to mosaic" sites, you'll read the reasons for using different grouts. I THINK I've seen the unfinished boxes at HobLob. Not a photographer - most times I turn the flash off when I'm taking pics in my workshop, and that seems to help.

RE: A few questions

I use sanded. I bought unsanded by accident, it was ok, but I guess I'm used to sanded. They don't reccomend unsanded if your grout lines are over 1/8 inch

I usually find tissue boxes at the TS or garage sale.
