What's the trick?

I made a couple magnets and I put words under glass. Used Mac Glue and fully covered the backside of the glass before sticking down. But it's dry and I can see blotchiness under the glass. Haven't grouted yet, so hopefully I got the edges well enough to prevent grout bleed. I also glued some different glass to a cross I'm making and I was extra careful to put plenty of glue on and smoosh it around a big, but I can see areas under there too. That glass was irridized on the back (textured on front), but that shouldn't make blotchiness show through, I wouldn't think. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Are you talking about grout bleed under the glass or blotchiness of the glue?

ahh. I think most have agreed that the best way to prevent that is to use modpodge to attach your picture to the glass.

OH Modpodge! What I did was glue my paper saying to the wood, then glued the glass that. So, I should ModPodge my piece first to the glass, THEN glue the paper/glass combo down onto the wood. That makes sense. Thank you!! Gonna give that a try with the next ones.
