No joke, my friends

While I hate to put this on this side, I thought I would so you all would have a chance to read it and be aware and careful with your installations. A 42 year old friend of mine was killed last week by falling mosaic in his home. It is a huge tragedy to all who knew and loved this very special man. This is the informtion I got when I wrote and inquired about the accident.

"They had some stone work done in the house including covering the kitchen hood/fan with stone. It looked gorgeous. Last Monday, he heard some kind of creaking around the hood area and went to investigate. A large
piece of stone fell on him and he died instantly."

And, this was professional work, my friends. I felt it worth the note. Please please be careful with your personal pieces to assure that they are secured in all ways on installation and check them from time to time as well.

Thanks for this, DAISEY. What a tragic thing to happen. Was this written up in the news? Hope the "professional" who installed it w/be held accountable. How very sad.

Thanks Daisy for the head's up. yes, so very tragic. I'm sorry for your loss too and of course, his family. Horrible.

Slow, to answer your question I went to the main Phoenix newspaper's site and all I could find is the obituary. Apparently they haven't written an article. I'm sure the installers will be sued, but, of course, it can never bring him back. What a tragedy for everyone involved.
