Mosaic fees

Hi, I'm new on this forum. After nearly 6 years away from mosaics I've come back and am loving it more this time around. I've been given a 'commission' of 2 panels of 1800mm x 900mm to do. My problem is that I have no idea how much to charge per panel. I was hoping someone could tell me if I should charge by the square foot or by the hour and what is a reasonable fee to ask for. I'm not sure if I'm alowd to ask this question here but wasn't sure where else to go. Thanks.

RE: Mosaic fees

I think we all have a problem when it comes to pricing. I think it has everything to do w/your area. Some artists charge by the sq. ft, and others - I dunno know. IMO the cost of your materials times two or two/half, and if your area is a good market, times three. Don't forget to send us a picture of your WIP. Glad you're back into mosaics. It is such a satisfying hobby.
