Hi there, I unfortunately broke a ceramic pot I made 35 years ago, and wondered if pieces of this pot could be used in a mosaic? It's a curved flowerpot. :(

I would guess "yes" especially if you mosaiced onto another flower the same general size and shape. Do you have a pic?
|
OK, you're saying do the mosaic over another similar pot? Believe it or not, I have an identical pot, that was painted but never glazed. (yard sale) I will work on a photo to show you. I have never done mosaics before, but seem to want to save all broken stuff!!!

Yes, Carol. That is cool that you have an identical pot. The reason I recommended it is because the pieces will have a curve to them that should fit well on the unbroken pot. (I'm assuming that the pot is round.) You will probably need to add some other broken bits to the ones you have. Also, you sure sound like a mosaic artist in the making, since you save broken stuff (like me!) I have accumulated so much mosaic stuff that I will never be able to use it all up. I sometimes think that I should write explanations on some of it -- after I'm gone, my descendants are going to be scratching their heads in puzzlement at some of the salvaged bits I've stashed.
