 o
repainting a light fixture

I have a Tiffany style light fixture that I want to repaint. It is not glass and is not painted on the inside. It's heavy plastic with medium blue flowers and an inch-thick border around the top. We are moving to a farmhouse and I'm taking this fixture with me from where we live now and it needs to be repainted a 'barn red' color. What's the best way to go about this and what kind of paint should i buy?

Thanks!

Krylon paints out there for plastics, BUT If the paint is transparent and light shows through it, you can also use artist oils. I've painted lamp shades by using terpentine to thin the oil paint. If the paint is opaque you can also use acrylics. I'd say the choice is yours. Whatcha got to lose?
