Marvin Moose gets new resting place

This is Marvin a moose skull w/ horns I did a couple of years ago. He's been hanging on our shop wall. He now hangs over our wood stove in the shop. Hubby welded a pipe from the cieling and suspended him over the front of the stove. He is right now putting a spot light in the cieling that will shine on him and show him off better. I like him much better where he is now. Have had quite a dew people want to purchase him, but in Alaska it is illegal to sale moose skull w/horns attached so he is now in his permanent resting place. He was so much fun to do. I'm hoping to someday come across another one.

WOW!!! How cool is that!!! Love it! When I worked at the thrift store, someone had dropped off a small animal skull, and the gals I work with brought it to me as they just "knew" I'd want it(and only me!lol) Maybe I'll have to mosaic my little one!!! Kinda like the day of the dead skulls!!! Someone here a while ago, had done a steer head, but I think it was just a ceramic one, but it sure looked good!

cathy-wow! mosaicing around those huge horns had to be a task!
Here are some some skulls that I know will inspire everyone, not just Jane that skulls can be made pretty-Just like Cathy's! It just goes to show, if its not moving, we will try to glass it!

Wacky those are beautiful. I too did a couple of steer horns and skulls. Page 5 in my photobucket is one not sure why I don't have the other one.
Calam: It took awhile and I was on my back, sideways and upside down but I got it done. My hubby thought I was going to ruin it but after I finished him he decided he likes it enough to hang it above the stove. Ha...I knew he would.....

MYGOODNESS!!!!! That thing is absolutely gorgeous, and I really like your color on it. The animal, especially those horns - oh, so regal. The other skull on page 5 is also beautiful. And, CRYSTAL's - WOW. Thanks WACKY for showing us those.

Thanks all. He's made quite a hit in his new place. Hubby got a spot light on him and he really shines now!!!! I'm hoping to get started on a project soon. But my 2 weeks of company made for lots of cleaning and rest after they left. I'm pooped and still need to box up Christmas decorations!!!! Maybe by this weekend or 1st of nect week....
