drilling through a glass brick

| How hard is it to drill a 5/8" hole in the bottom of a glass block? Can I use my regular drill or do I need a drill press? Also, what tips do you have while drilling? One thing I heard was to immerse the block in water while drilling but obviously don't let the drill get in the water.

| Hi There! Welcome aboard the forum! What is your project gonna be? I have even used my tile saw to cut a hole in the glass blocks. Thus it has had water involved as water saves the glass drill bit/saw blade. |

| You need a drill bit for glass for your regular drill. It's a slow process, and you can put water on your little bit as you're slowly letting it do its thing. I've seen instructions that tell you to start w/a small hole first, then enlarging slowly, so you might need two or three drill bits. |
