WIP Powder Room mosaic

So, about 3 years ago I pried off the 4 x 5 plate mirror in the powder room, took it out front and had a jolly time smashing it to bits. This summer I finally got around to finishing it up. I finally took the plunge and began to grout it tonight. Here are some pics. Hope they post okay!Oh, I might mention that this is my first vertical piece. Ugh, my aching shoulders!!

Bother! It looks like the links didn't work. I just copied and pasted in the url for the pics. What should I have done?
Oh, wait! is that what the url link box is for? I'll give that a try.

Here is a link that might be useful: mirror mosaic

Aw...thanks, guys! Your comments provide the motivation to tackle the next portion, even though my shoulders are killing me!One thing I learned from this project is that it is worth the time to grind the edges of the glass. I'm a bit lazy about these things, so I didn't do that, which is going to make cleaning the mirror on a regular basis a bit dicey. But, as of yet, I have not cut myself even though the edges are razor sharp!

Wow! It looks like you did this on mesh an then mounted it?
Please share your process. It is wonderful!

Hi Texasfern- I began by mounting the oval mirror with thinset (I used painter's masking tape to hold it in place while the thinset set up) and then mounted each piece of broken mirror directly to the wall using more thinset. Yes, I used fiberglass mesh to mount all the remaining pieces of tile/glass/etc. Working with a roll of mesh that was 12 inches wide, I mapped out each area to be filled in and held the mesh up to each area. Using a Sharpie, I outlined each area, numbered it and numbered the place on the wall where it was to go, and then cut each piece. I lined the back with parchment paper and then used Weldbond to affix the tesserae to the mesh and then put it up on the wall using thinset. I'm sure there was probably an easier way to do it, but this is the first vertical, in-situ mosaic I have ever done, so I figured things out as I went along! Thank you for your compliment. :-)
